2010C Grid Accessible Racing Tournament (GART)

Posted by AJ Weber (Admin) at August 28. 2010

This is the Friday off-slot series, peer (same weekends) with GTCC.  I'm posting this now for feedback, but I only want feedback from people who can actually race on Fridays.  I want to make this as compelling as possible to help turnout.

So here is what is known:

  • will use the Arrive&Drive cars (the grid F3 cars) -- the same cars as the GMOC used this season
  • will run one large oval, one medium oval, one small oval, one street course, one purpose built road course, and one country road course.
  • will have the same seed point contribution to the MegaEvent as the GTCC

So I want feedback on cool track ideas and race format (3x30 vs GP style vs. GMOC style, etc).

AJ, I think the track choices are a pretty good idea. Make the series cover a wide range.
I would personally like to see the series run the GMOC style events as I think they would work well with that "late night" slot. It was past 11 by the time we got done last night, which is a bit late IMO if I have to work at 8am the next day lol.
Have you picked out the tracks yet? Even if I can't be there to race/oversee things, I could help with track selection.

I'm still working on the tracks.  I think Loudon and Arizona from the ones you picked out are good.  I still need a small one, like Virginia, flat, but with the pit lane bug.

Screw the bug, just tell everyone the correct place to pit

Yeah, that is exactly what I was going to say. It isn't really a bug, you guys just botched the entry lol

Loudon and Arizona both fall into the "medium" oval category IMO. I'd say for the long oval, its down to either Indianapolis (maybe to long?) or Orchard.
Also, Richmond is a somewhat flat oval, but I don't think it does what you are looking for.
