Spa GP (post race)Collective

How did the race go, was it smooth or were there incidents?, incidents we can learn from for the second round at Spa.

There may possibly be a bump somewhere in the terrain to the left of Eau Rouge. I lost it coming through Eau Rouge last night and had a pretty spectacular airborne accident. It isn't really an issue but the accident was really cool. Still haven't seen a replay of it though.

Thrilling stuff Zack, Would that be the nasty bit at the top left of eau rouge?,. Whereby the weight suddenly  shifts to the front of the car.

Sounds about right.  AJ lost it mysteriously in a similar place (not sure if it was in exactly the same spot).

The event went smoothly otherwise.  There were 7 drivers, so starts weren't too crowded.  Even so, we did have one episode of textbook violation of the L1T1 rule -- with two drivers diving down and taking inside space before La Source (both received penalties, though one had already retired due to consequences at the exit of the turn).

That turn is understandably tempting for that kind of violation.  The normal line is on the outside, to round off the very sharp apex, and so it looks very roomy on the inside even when traffic is stacked up going into the turn.

People just need to stay disciplined and choose to NOT put themselves down there on the inside, in violation of the rule.

Great and very fun race.

Happy with my victory there.

Ah - C - I took picture just after you lost your front wing. See it - your front wheels were NOT in the ground during that long straight.

Celso.
