Speed HD

Posted by Tom Giangreco at March 11. 2008

This is totally old news, but it was new to me. While browsing the speedtv website looking for when/if the A1GP (which I never actually found), I discovered that next to the F1 race, as well as others, that it said HD. This was somewhat surprising to me, because it would be really amazing to watch an F1 race in HD (with digital sound). So searched around and found this article:

Apparently, they have a whole separate HD channel. Unfortuntately, I do not get it on my AT&T Uverse channel lineup. I do have tons of HD channels, but not speed hd yet. Anyway, like I said, this may have been old news for others, but for me, it was not. I think this is really good news, indeed.

There is some debate (in the speedtv forums) as to what this actually means. Some people are saying it's just upscaled video, others are saying it's true HD. Nobody will know until Friday.

Unfortunately I don't get speed HD as comcast does not carry it. DirecTV does so I'll head over to my brother's house and report back.

I thought you still lived at Mike's mansion.  ( And I would not blame you :) )

Nope..that gig ended last fall after 8 years. I needed to get out, there is only so long brothers can live together before murder occures :)

I'm looking for an HDTV now. There is a nice Panasonic 1080p plasma I'm looking at.
