2008A Northhampshire Setup

Attached is the setup I have so far. There's definitely more speed there, but this is a good baseline for this track.

I love the fact that I work from home and can jump on the computer for a quick lap or two (and it was quick). My previous setup I was running consistent 1:09's with a fastest of 1:08:5.   With this setup I'm running consistent 1:08:5's with a fastest time of 1:07:5....a 1 second improvement on average times is huge! Thanks for the setup! With a little more practice I might be able to break 1:08 consistently...have to get more consistent first :) Also have a ways to go to get into the 1:06's :)

That's awesome. Notice the file naming convention. I use _dev to denote the fact that a given setup is still in development. Before race day I remove the _dev designation so that the team is aware that this is the final (gold) release of the setup. I TRY to have a qual setup AND a race setup before race day. The race setup has the pit strategy built in the fuel setup. So, you'll notice 1,2 or 3 stops selected with fuel loads for each stop. Simply doing the math, you can figure out at which laps to stop.

This setup is a guide. It's very possible that you will be able to get more distance out of your tires than I can, or for that matter, less distance. This would obviously affect when and how often you stop for fuel/tires. This will be generally true with any team you eventually join.

OK, I found some info online that helped me figure out what most of these different settings will do, so I stayed up way too late last night making tweeks on this setup...so many tweeks in fact that it doesn't look anything like the original. However, I've been able to shave almost another 1/2 second off. I'm now getting consistent 1:07.5 to 1:07.8 lap times, with a fastest lap of 1:07.1 (almost into the 1:06s!). I started playing a little with caster and toe to try and improve the turn in and my lap times went up to 1:09s and 1:10s...I set it back and was still running 1:09s and 1:10s, so I figure it was driver fatigue more than anything else and went to bed....at 3:30am. It was hard getting out of bed this morning...really hard.

Anyway, here's my version as it stands if you want to compare/contrast. I plan on running some more practice laps tonight to try some further changes...then again, I may just go to bed early and try those changes tomorrow.

Ok. This is the setup that is will qualify as the official CPS qual setup. I hope to have a race setup out after practice tonight. That is if I actually get to practice.
