Enduro thoughts
Up to Team: Antares Racing
Here are some random thoughts I have regarding the enduro coming up:
I did some laps on the track last night - cycling through each of the cars and there is considerable difference in lap times between classes.
It gives rise to a major decision in terms of your personal experience expectations. The protons will be faster than both the B and C and therefore you'll be running into traffic much more...if you drive the B, naturally you get passed by the protons, but regularly overtake the Skodas, and of course, if you drive a Skoda, you only have to worry about overtaking other Skodas, and being driven off the road by everybody else.
So, it depends what you.like....I think I just might wait and see what the field is driving and choose then. Remember to map your horn
and your lights.
It seems to me that the proton will need more setup work than the other cars, the outside (right) front tire is very susceptible to heating
As well, isn't this the first time we've had an event with different class cars? If so, we can expect a bit of mayhem in terms of overtaking and such....hopefully these suckers are built strong.

This is actually the second time we'll be running a mixed class event with the touring-a, touring-b, and touring-c. Last season we ran an Enduro with these same cars at Bathurst that turned out very well.
The track should be similar to Bathurst in a way...there is a long fast section for classes to sort themselves out. Oran Park (the next one) will be interesting in that we will not have such a straight there.
Adelaide after that has a long straight, and as I recall, our last enduro at Le Mans has some sort of straight that might be long enough.
Actually, this will be the second time we've run this enduro format. The first time was last season, and despite the speed differences, there were relatively few on-track incedents between cars. In fact reports from everyone that attended the event were that it was a resounding success...much better than the driver-swap enduro we attempted a couple seasons ago.
LOL , yeah that damn straight is so long that you wonder when its going to end. kinda makes you wish the protons could nudge 200 mph down Mulsanne just to get to the end faster. another great VLM track but shame the more modern one isnt available yet.
