08C Rusyn Development

So, what direction do you guys want to take our car for 2008C?  Or put anything way, what deficiencies do you notice or struggle with on our current car?

We are now into the development window for 2008C, so we can start working on a 2008C prototype.

hmm. I will think about this. If there are any deficiencies, they are minor, from my perspective. The only thing is we seem to have to work harder for is tracks with long straights. At least, I do.

Yep.  Long straights.  The engine.  We talked about this in 2008B pre-season too.  Lets talk about it again.  On one hand, we really struggle vs the Antares and SDL on long straights, but on the other hand, we have the most drivable engine which pays off in consistency in features.  Note we are leading both the DC and TC with the engine we have now.  Tom got his first win with it.

I'm torn.  It does suck feeling helpless on long straights, in spite of the results so far.  Also, what we have now may not be enough next season.  Reports are that the new SDL is faster than the old one.

We should do some R&D that continues the tradition of drivability and consistency. Clearly, we've proven our package can win consistently. However, even minor advancements can pay huge dividends. That's where we should focus. There are many more tracks on the schedule that have the epic straights. If we can find a balance between we have now in our cornering ability AND maximum power/speed, the Rusyn team would indeed continue to be the team to beat. I would be happy to assist in any way I can as your faithful driver.

There will be a bunch of prototypes for you and Moe to put mileage in the next update.   There are two prototype helo chassis and a prototype engine.  Moe, you only need to worry about the engine at this point.  Matt's (Steele) contribution to the gyro/as1/as2 chassis, that you are on now, seems to be working well.  However, Moe, if you have some issue with that chassis, tell me, and I'll start working on that too.
