Silverstone v1.2 will be used for 2010A7
Up to Support
Please note that we'll be using a specific version of the Silverstone track. It's a 'custom' v1.2 of the F1 1988 track by carerra4. It's just the v1.1 that's included in the 88 trackpack, but with a fix to the maps file so that the textures work under all DX settings.

We are *NOT* using the standalone 88 Silverstone listed on RFC, which is v1.0, and we're not using the v1.1 that's included in the F1 1988 track pack. Both are busted in different ways with either DX 7 or 8.
NOTE: the v1.2 that we packaged is multiplayer-compatible with the v1.1 from the track pack. So if you haven't had any problems loading the track, then you should be fine and don't need to switch to the v1.2 package. This new version is only for people that were experiencing crashes when using their normal graphics settings. However, if you don't use this package, and you encounter incompatibility messages when attempting to join the server, please first switch to v1.2 and try it before sounding the alarm.
[updated: 20100228, version bumped to 1.2 because even v1.1 didn't have all necessary texture fixes]
My Silverstone keeps crashing out and I'm totally lost as to why. The error it gives me is something about RMBLE is incorrect.
The error says: Error loading texture RMBLE for material RMBLE. Global texture RMBLE is incorrect.
Did you use the one Hoss posted, 1.1?
If so, maybe DX7 is still not right, but we know the problem and have a fix, and it does not require everyone update to a fixed track. All you need is a MAS file from me to replace the one you have.
But before we do all that, try another DX level and see if A) it works and B) is it fast enough for you. Silverstone is pretty spartan, so DX8 may be quick enough for you anyway.
Zack please be sure that you're using the correct version (specifically -- the one linked above). And for good measure, prior to extracting it just delete any other version you have. And note that the two different flavors of silverstone (standalone vs. the 1988 pack one) install into two different directories in Gamedata\Locations.
I verified that the 1.0 version doesn't work in DX7 and that the v1.1 DOES.
