Cleaning up an rFactor install

Posted by Andy Jones at August 10. 2010

So since I have accumulated the load of crud as one might expect in my rFactors, I thought I'd do some cleansing.

Any tips, tricks or avoid-at-all-costs warnings that anyone would care to share, or can I just roam about my vehicles and locations folders wreaking havoc and destruction and still expect it to work afterwards ?

Of course some mods have uninstall, but many don't - hence the strong arm approach.

Just make sure you get the rfm files out.  And any UI data.

I'd be more inclined to just do a fresh rF install, and then just apply the mods and tracks that I wanted to keep.

In general, you can prune tracks easily and without fear of breakage.   Mods can have a more invasive footprint, and ensuring that all their bits and pieces are gone, if removing them manually, can be tricky.
