Android and the site

Posted by C at June 27. 2010

,i use an android phone most of the time I'm on the web and I have found that I am unable to use the forum form.for some reason that form doesn't work in my browser and it worked in my old ass windows mobile phone. when i click on the form it just turns green as if youre going to copy something for those with android and know what im talking about.  just wondering if anyone knows what's going on or has a solution to the problem. online forms seem to work everywhere else.

Fixed. Went to preferences, personal preferences, then switched the editor to basic. Now I can rant on the forum ALL day!!! Hoss you rock

That basic HTML editor is definitely bottom rung, so you won't be happy with it in the long term.

But that does do more to explain why things were misbehaving on the mobile browser(s).  The wysiwig editors we have available (fckeditor and kupu) are both drop-in 3rd party packages.  Kupu is basically dead.  FCKeditor is transitioning through a rewrite (or appeared to be).  We'll soon (whatever 'soon' means) be going through a major server and web services upgrade, and that will likely include transitioning the preferred editor to tinymce, which has a lot of traction these days.  So hopefully that will perform better with mobile browsers.

Ouch! Moved onto name calling I see... Well OK, I can live with that, now I know how Kobe must feel. And I'm 16 and a half, think you very much.

I don't use the wysiwyg stuff anywho. If you didn't notice my post are mindless, no need to pretty them up.

Unfortunately as of now I don't have a login at work, and even if I did I know they block out gmail. I wonder how many times I'd hit refresh on a daily basis. I'm still trying to finagle my way into work net access ,but in the meantime I've got my quirky android phone which I love. 3g access is in and out in the large building that I'm in. I move all over the building, but in my specific office I'm lucky to get a roaming 2g signal crawl along at 5-20kb\s. I'm able to goto the smokers spot to tether if I need to write something long or want the convenience of full browser. I've got a nice 8mb\s 4g suck all my battery juice out connection there. Other then that my 40min commute to and from work I tether and try to get some stuff done then. Being able to post from my phone is alot more convenient...I'm pretty sure alot of my future post will be during the time I'm dropping a duece off at work. Hoss you made like that much more bearable you cynical tech god/ass

Yeah, I switch between Kupu and the basic editor for my iPhone. Unless I get lazy. Then it's just the basiceditor because frankly I spend about as much time on my iPhone on this site as I do my computer. Only thing I can't do is make forum posts lol.
