Description

This format represents our attempt to capture at least some of the unique feel of a real-life endurance event.  Obviously, that's a bit of a fool's errand, since the nature of the activity conspires to prevent us from truly recreating it.  But we can make a reasonable, and more importantly - entertaining, facsimile.  The event consists of a single race, consuming the majority of our alotted event time.  Special configuration changes are made which cause pit stops to take enough time that they proxy themselves as breaks for the driver, injecting ~15 cumulative minutes worth of enforced break time over the course of the event.

Schedule

  1. drivers meeting (~5 minutes at the start of the event)
  2. 1 enduro race

Enduro Race

  • a lengthy, timed, qualifying session (~20 minutes), serving as both qualification and warmup

  • standing start

  • a timed race lasting between 2-2.5 hours

  • race results contribute to the league rolling rankings

  • the time scale is adjusted so that the race will transpire within about 8 hours of game time (simulating a full day) unless the track and cars are suitable for night conditions, in which case a full 36 hours of game time will be simulated (allowing for about a third of the race to be run under lights)

  • damage is set to 25%
