Press Release of the 2008A season Antares Sim Racing Car Launch

Press Release: Bogota Headquarters, Jan 30, 2008.

Antares Sim Racing, the Grid Motorsports World Cup Manufacturer Champion, is announcing the launch of their 2008A racecar. The prototype has been available for several days now to team customers and the feedback has been extremely positive. Final launch, due Feb 4, 2008 will include chassis geometry revisions.

The package features a new engine development codenamed "Stuttgart", built from the ground up, it represents a completely different approach in Antares powerplant design. The engine now maximizes power output at the operating rev band and provides better driveability (less torque) at lower RPM's. The new powerplant works at a higher rev limit and it performs better at higher and top speeds, an area where the "hannover" engine did not excel.

The chassis is also a brand new design, codenamed "x_antares", which retains the "nimble" handling characteristics from last season and corrects tire temperature and wear deficiencies faced last season. Antares actively participated in option H tire testing and now believes that, in combination with the new chassis, has the most competitive package in GMWC. In addition, the 2008A chassis is also "Real Feel Plugin" compatible.

The brake system was also changed to the mk2 which offers a wider optimum temperature range than other options and lower drag from refrigeration needs.

Antares is now looking for new customers for the the 2008A season and invites new GMWC drivers to test the 2008A prototype found in rfactor, at the Antares manufacturer section under the name "x_antares/stuttgart/hel/H".
