Livery Guide

by Andy Jones [posted 2009-11-21 18:39]

The MRDC livery for 2010A is based on that used by Benetton in 1991 (the origin of our car shape) but with a different palette of colours, different logos and a few extra features especially for Midpack - like the big M on the engine cover !

Drivers wishing to race with Midpack Racing Drivers' Club (MRDC) for 2010A and who submit their vehicle form before deadline of 28th November 2009 are invited to customise the colour scheme to suit their own taste. Additionally, the default livery includes "MRDC" text in 5 places and you're welcome to replace these with your name. My guess is Hoss will use these names to call the races, so choose wisely ! The freeware text used to create this text is included in the skin reference pack ( MRDC-2010A-LiveryPack )

The reference pack contains 2 .psd files, one for the main body and one for the rear wing, and these give you the opportunity to select up to 5 colours of your choice:

1. Key body colour (YellowLayer in the .psd)

2. Key sidepod colour (BlueLayer in the .psd), same colour to be used for the colour band on the rear wing.

3. Noseband colour (GreenLayer in the .psd)

4. MRDC replacement text on the body (3 instances, 2 on the side of the nose, 1 as vertical text down the centre)

5. MRDC replacement text on the sidepod, the same colour to be used for the "MIDPACK" text on the rear wing.

So for the default skin I've only used 3 different colours, with the choices being 1. Red, 2. Blue, 3. White, 4. Keep MRDC text, White, 5. Keep MRDC text, White  and it looks like this:

with a rear wing:

To make a car that looks like this:

Similarly, my personal skin goes as 1. Blue, 2. Red, 3. White, 4. ANDY - White, 5. ANDY - White, to give a car that looks like this:

MRDC10A - testing ends badly
