RAC and Lamborghini in partnership
RAC Racing and Lamborghini have signed a new contract this week, for Lamborghini to supply a spec engine in accordance with the GMWC council for the 09C championship, but this is no ordinary engine, for the first time in the history of the GMWC, Lamborghini will be supplying RAC Racing a V8 oil burner, that's correct, a Diesel engine. This is the same unit that's rumoured to be powering Lamborghini's newest car, the Estoque, but modified to the correct specifications to meet the league's regulations.
"Expectations for this new power unit are high, as we draw to a close on our worst season to date, which is all due to the lack of development" explains Chris Jones, team owner, "this new engine under test conditions have proved to be successful, and the current development of the car's new technology and this engine will hopefully prove to be as successful combination"
Financing this new technology, which is rumoured to be a development of Knights Industries KITT (knighs Industries Three Thousand) now under the name of KIRT (Knights Industries Racing Technology) have all come from those old gold zeplins which Chris Jones and Brandon Longworth managed to retrieve from their previous team's (SDL) principle's office.
Current No 2 driver Brandon Longworth will be missing the up and coming Enduro event, and is likely to miss the final 2 championship races due to ill health, but rumours have it, he is currently sunning it up in some foreign country with the team's primary sponsor, which for leagal reason's we are still unable to disclose, but the team's logo (the scorpion) is a hint as to who she is.
