Press Release: 1/29/08

Introducing the RF2

Ridgefield Race Engineering is proud to announce the next level in racing performance, the RF2. The RF2 represents an evolutionary step forward in the areas on nimble handling and predictable power delivery while still retaining the trademark stability that has become synonymous with a Ridgefield Chassis. Our engineers have worked to adopt new construction options to adapt to the tire rule changes adopted by the GMWC. We have also addressed areas where we felt the performance of the car could be improved. In addition to adopting the new H-spec tires, the RF2 also includes a narrow front track which allows for quicker turn-in. In addition, the SR207 has been replaced by the similar SR208 which features flatter, more predictable power curves.

A new level of support awaits at the new team page:

Ridgefield is dedicated to providing the only the best in setup support for the RF2. Under the folder "RF2 Vehicle Setups" you will find baseline setups for every venue on the schedule. As of this press release, the following setups are already available: Basic, Spa, Zandy, Toban and Suzuka. On the "Plugin and controller setup" page, you will find thorough and clear step-by-step instructions on setting up your controls and force feedback plugins as well as a downloadable plugin pack containing both the force feedback plugins and pre-configured ini files. Additionally, a link to the RaceAlex Vehicle Setup Guide has been provided to give you further information on how to take the RF2 setups and fine-tune them to your individual driving style.

As of this press release, the new GMWC team, Corso Perdando Sonno, headed by Tom Giangreco, is currently in negotiations to be a Ridgefield customer for the 2008A GMWC season.  This means that there will be full setup support between both teams as each teams cars will be identical. Tom and I have already laid out a plan to cooperatively create robust vehicle setups for every venue on the 2008A calendar. In addition, we will work together to help each other's team members out with any questions they might have about the car. We at Ridgefield are looking forward to another successful season in 2008A and encourage new members of the GMWC to do a sync, drop in a setup and try the car out.

As always, feedback is greatly appreciated.
