i would support your choice either way---o voted no however it is not a major factor for me and i can adapt---would you allow unlimited time for a member to submit a qual time or would you have a time window to get your qual time in---sorry if you have explained these elements i did not see them---anything to help lessen your burden gets my support---sammy

Pretty much the only difference between the current format and one that used private qual is that noone else would appear to be on track with you. We might adjust the session times slightly, but you'd be running a timed qual session for sprints and the feature race, just like we do now, and everyone would be doing it at the same time. And I think you'd still be able to see everyone's times as they get posted. Really a private qual just puts you on your own virtual private track.

I think Private qual should not happen personally, Like the real thing, you have a set time in which to gain your time, and if your not successful in gaining that time, then you start from the best position you managed to achieve. Wether I qual 1st or last, either way I'll be happy starting where ever.

Did you read my reply to Sammy?
It sounds like you think private qual affords the driver an unlimited amount of time in which to log his best lap. No - a private qual would be just like our current 'public' qual: a timed session in real time during the event, immediatley preceding each race. The only difference is that everyone gets their own track, via the magic of computers. Everyone runs their qual simultaneously, but you don't have any traffic.

I like the current format, but with maybe a bit more time. Like enough to add another lap or 2.

I see two options, private qual' with the same time as now which gives you one hot lap,or two if you leave the pits ignoring the red light. (OT The red light should be ignored, it really just wastes time.)
Or pulic qual' with enough time added to allow 2,3 or 4 hot laps, this adds your skill at finding clear space as an aspect to the game, which may or may not be a good thing or desireable.
